DEFINITION
It is a cement-based joint filling mortar for ceramics and tiles.
ADVANTAGES
It does not crack after freezing in joints up to 6 mm. It is easy to prepare and apply. Provides smooth surface. It is wear resistant. Processing time is long.
SURFACE PREPARATION
Before applying the joint, the joint spaces must be cleaned of dust, cement and other residues that may prevent adhesion. For this process, the joints should be scraped with a thin stick and cleaned with a brush. In dry and hot environments, joint gaps should be moistened, especially vertically.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
20 kg NESCOAT JOINT FILLER MORTAR should be slowly poured into 6-6.5 liters at ambient temperatures between +5°C and +35°C. It is poured onto water and mixed with a low speed mixer (400-600 rpm) until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. After the prepared mortar rests for 5-10 minutes, it is mixed for another 1-2 minutes before application. Care should be taken to ensure that the adhesive is cured before application. The mortar is filled onto the surface with a rubber spatula, first in parallel and then in diagonal movements, and the excess is scraped off the surface. Depending on the ambient temperature, the surface is cleaned with a damp sponge before the material loses its water and dries completely (after 20-30 minutes). Residues remaining on the surface should be cleaned with a dry cloth while NESCOAT JOINT FILLER is wet. In order to prevent damage to colored joint fillers, cleaning materials such as bleach, salt alcohol, and lime remover should not be applied to the joints.
